The resources of Gumberg Library are intended to specifically support the Duquesne University community. Therefore, Gumberg Library is not open to the general public. Non-affiliated individuals who wish to use Gumberg Library should write to the University Librarian, Dr. Sara Baron, in advance at Typically, Gumberg Library does not loan books to the general public except through the use of interlibrary loan.

During evening and weekend hours, we require all Duquesne University members to swipe their DUQ ID for access and show their ID to the front desk attendant.

If you have visitors, they must sign-in, register, and obtain a guest pass at the front circulation desk upon entering the building. In most cases, we require visitors to be escorted by an affiliated Duquesne University member at all times. If you have any questions regarding Gumberg Library access, please call the front Circulation Desk at 412-396-6130.
