The Circulation Desk is staffed during all open hours, and any problems may be reported to staff members. During evening and weekend hours, everyone using the library is required to use their Duquesne ID to swipe into the building. There is no access for members of the general public.

Panic alarms are located throughout the library at the following locations: near the stairwells, in all study rooms and restrooms, in the Curriculum Center and Room 408.

Emergency exits are located at the bottom of both stairwells. If the fire alarm should sound, please leave the library via these exits. Library staff will direct you to vacate the building in the event of an emergency.

Security cameras are installed throughout the library. Fire extinguishers are located on all floors near the stairwells. Gumberg Library also has an AED machine across from the Circulation Desk by the elevators.
